Phoenix, a teenager who has acquired the ability of blood magic in my first book, Fester, will cross paths with Rykar and other demons. They will all stand in her way, but she is not necessarily alone.

The only one I really liked and that has stuck with me is Brave New World. Kind of messed up, but it makes you think about where the world might be heading, especially in the context of the author from when he wrote it.

But then again, it sounds like you've already tried a few, so maybe reading more wouldn't change anything. Still, never bad to branch out and see what you like/don't like!

I've only heard of it, but I haven't read it, unfortunately. I get the action thing though, I'm sort of the same way.

But yeah, I guess this is why they have subgenres. Could always try another dystopian by a different author, and if that is just okay like this book, I guess that confirms it

I kind of like them, but it really depends on how much I like the book before appreciating the dystopian aspects. However, I will say some ideas really stuck with me, but if I don't like the story, I won't stick around.

But I get it, and maybe the book just wasn't quite your style?
