There is a delightful amount of snow in the alpine so early in the season, I just had to get out and enjoy it!

We are a small part of beautiful planet - let’s protect it.

Once the sun starts going down ideas for shots come fast and furious!

It’s incredible that these delicate alpine flowers grow in such a tough environment.

Thinking of my dad recently, I pulled up the GPS marker where I put his ashes on my phone while training to work. Travelling west, a little surreal to watch the KM’s count down, being that much closer.

Winter twilight.

Light from the fading sun created such an interesting light on the landscape, repainting it with hues of purple.

If only we could slow down and observe time the way a camera does.

That was unexpected.

I couldn’t see the Aurora with the naked eye, maybe a dim glow. The moon behind lighting the landscape up didn’t help!

A long exposure has no trouble capturing it though - compressing time into a single moment.

A kiss goodbye from Winter last weekend with some decent snow fall. Same peak, a month and a year apart.

I want expecting the weather to be this intense. It’s definitely clearing up now, hoping for some stars and calm winds tonight.

My dog is very well suited to the snow and there is s -32c sleeping bag to keep her cozy, she loves it (just not the wind)

Some pretty gnarly spring weather today. Love my @thenarwhal.ca toque!

Composite photos from ice climbing in February. This is a sport I really enjoy - getting to hang out on frozen waterfalls is pretty cool!

I left the camera well back (to avoid falling chunks of ice) and had it do a time-lapse.

Printing, preparing and packaging!

I love making my work tangible - there is a deep satisfaction, but always the urge to do a little more after looking at them again.

These will be in a local store next month.

Been pretty busy but managed to get away last weekend for some ice climbing!

I left my camera running on an interval timer and got some nice shots! Last one is me from my friend.

I didn’t have much time to get artistic, but ice is always beautiful.

The Milky Way off the coast of Vancouver Island, Canada, the beach lit by campfires.

As you look at this picture, I have an ask:

Do something, no matter how small, to help others. It matters.

A little warmth for the winter, sunset on the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island, Canada.

A pristine environment protected & maintained by Trail Guardians.

Cold winter nights in the mountains are a magic unto themselves. A tranquility that is rare to experience.

Looking forward to more info. My scarp has been on some serious adventures (last weekend pics) for the last 10+ years, but I’m feeling a need for a lighter (and breezier) tent for summer.

Met this fellow on a sub peak I climbed on the second day.

Incredibly icy, which is unusual. With warmer winters becoming more common, the snow has more frequent melt/freeze cycles.

Had a fun weekend with my favourite season.

A few pics while on the move, this trip was more about having fun and rendering what winter conditions are like anything else was a bonus!

Not the greatest weather, but as a friend says “there’s no bad days on the mountain!”

Ubiquitous raven in the local mountains, seemingly oblivious to the weather.

Afternoon mountains, new year’s day.

Raven taking off.

Bigger and more reserved than crows, they have a quiet mystery to them. A suggestion of things going on around you that maybe if you stop to pay attention you’ll feel it too.

January 2023. This was a very cold and windy day that absolutely filled my soul.

Though I was camping I learned a valuable lesson in keeping my warmest layers readily accessible 😅
