for mods, you ABSOLUTELY need basemod. it allows you to install mods and will even teach you how to install them.

-overwork/overtime (work over the enkephalin quota to get more lob)
-shield health mod
-stacking hp bars
-optimization
-detailed information (expressed work success as percentages)
-reorganized central command (makes central command FAR more comprehensive)

trial and error!! takes a lot of time, patience, and dedication. i'd also advise, if you'd like, mods from nexus mods. i can't tell you exactly what i have rn, but these are what i have:
-perma agents (allows you to keep employees from day 1 resets)

-when fighting abnos, if you don't have high dps, don't just go all in for damage. take it slow if needed and observe. you can kite certain attacks and avoid damage or even insta death. this can be done by selecting your nuggets and right clicking to the room in the direction you need them to run to

-high levelled employees are not always the answer to abnos. not all abnos thrive off of high leveled employees and may even breach
-invest in higher level ego!! especially alephs...def worth it even though you only get one aleph armor and weapon.

uhh personally for me

-grind a lot for stats to have high levelled nugers
-try not to get too attached to nuggets
-have nuggets in halls as opposed to in the main room due to violet noon. if you're worried about healing, there is a buff from safety team that moves hp and sp healing to the halls
