There is also a presumption of minimum good faith on the part of attorneys, but bottomless money erodes that too.

American legal procedure (criminal and civil) is premised on the notion that one or both litigants are resource constrained. So whenever two sides with essentially endless money are pitched against one another, American legal process tends to throw up its hands.

I am wondering if there was a problem with them getting security clearances? I don’t mean that in a sinister or conspiratorial way, just people get turned down for all kinds of reasons (including debt).
