Like I'm thinking of A Trip To Mars (1918). A lot of things about the science OBVIOUSLY don't hold up, but I like seeing the practical effects, and it has an anti-violence message that we can still benefit from today. You can always get something out of a good story even 100 years later

and if they aren't going for any kind of accuracy it's still fun to watch for the aesthetic and sometimes the story and practical effects. sometimes the tech just doesn't need to be the focus.

Personally as someone who did engineering for my undergrad, I love watching old sci fi movies to see what they got right, or to see how they applied the knowledge that was available. Technology and understanding may change but the human spirit of curiosity is a constant.

At this point man this is a failure of society to engage the youth in healthy and productive ways.

Of course I also can't avoid acknowledging the unfortunate truth that a lot of people would rather see everyone else suffer than everyone else have their basic needs met. I guess bc religious beliefs or something? Idk, this is the part I never understood.

I think most people dead ass don't understand that "private property" means private corporations' means of production and that no, they are not in fact a Temporarily Embarrassed member of the capitalist class and that that is by design.
