Ah hah! Found at least one workaround: if you put the @State adjacent to the NavigationSplitView it seems to work ok.

Tbh it’s a gamble, and the odds are not super in your favor. You’ll frequently run into edge cases where it’s apparent macOS hasn’t gotten as much attention as the other platforms.
That being said, it’s still worth it as a starting point. You’ll get something working way faster.

Tbh it’s a gamble, and the odds are not super in your favor. You’ll frequently run into edge cases where it’s apparent macOS hasn’t gotten as much attention as the other platforms.
