This is Deaton on the general failings of economists. Your analyses of the data all look sound to me but there is a complex web of biological and social factors that lead to those height data. And height does not equal “any detectable permanent health consequence”.

It’s a super interesting field. I’ve read a lot of Fogel etc as I work in obesity incl the impact of nutrition on health. I don’t intend to discredit the whole field, or your work. But I do find these conclusions problematic.
