Yeah, fair enough. It certainly wasn’t intended as snark. There’s lots of things in life where it makes sense to pay a little over the odds for convenience and planning your finances is definitely better than not doing it.

I think this is an intriguing argument but that SJP are a poor example. There are many (but not enough) genuinely independent IFAs offering the sort of expert advice you are advocating, while SJP largely steer clients to their own overpriced funds.

The point she’s making is the exact opposite of the original post. There’s a perennial discussion about Whitehall reform ofc but when new ministers need time to learn a policy portfolio that’s not really Whitehall slowing them down, if anything the opposite.
