If reading at its best is a sacred act, reducing it to a vehicle for social capital is heretical.

I read Byung-Chul Han for the first time!

After wandering in the window manager wilderness for years, I reinstalled #Gnome today. It seems more robust than I remember and is less demanding than #awesomewm on my time.

I may end up cycling back to being a basic Mac user who never changes the defaults. Not sure how to feel about that.

Rewatched The Good Place recently and it turns out when a show has a beginning, and middle, and crucially an end, people like that.

This week I beat the Opera Scene in FF6 and met Seltzer. What is it, 1994?

Also, handheld gaming is weird in 2025, and I corrupted my immich database.

So AWS allegedly has tight data sovereignty compliance. But as the Microsoft case shows, even in the EU some US providers may move data to the US.

Does this also apply to AWS? This has a real impact on what I do with my personal projects.

Been using geeqie for organizing slides from my AWS course - it's great, handles all my basic image manipulation and renaming needs (especially bulk renaming) without the drama of solutions which need to index everything.

There is an ongoing phishing campaign which abuses the GitHub notifications system. Got an email from it this morning! Stay safe all (and consider #codeberg).

I use AGPL for my projects but after reading "Introducing the Forklift Certified License" I want to play with source-available (non open) licenses.

This one would do what I want but might be a bit on the nose?
