Unlike most previous RT simulation studies, we use a virtual-experiments strategy (Miller, 2024), subsampling from real human-generated RTs from large open datasets.

Results will be fully explorable through a Shiny App currently under development, allowing researchers to apply different cutoffs and exclusion criteria beyond those preregistered. Here’s how it looks now:

This project is among the first to use the preregistration template for simulation studies in psychology by Siepe et al. (@bsiepe.bsky.social, @fbartos.bsky.social ), now adopted as an official template by the Center for Open Science on OSF.
