DB complains that fewer people use the service and even subscribe to the Deutschlandticket. Well, bringing a bike in the train is insanely expensive, the tickets are often more expensive than flights. The connections can be improved, especially in smaller towns. Provide a better service!

A new epidemiological analysis parses #dengue transmission in the Americas on a continental scale, defining synchronized seasonal and multiannual patterns in outbreaks and the influence of climatic factors such as El Niño.

Paper Alert 🚨

2024 broke many records of unprecedented heat. The epicenter of extreme warming was definitely Eastern Europe, not just for one reason! If you wanna know the contributors to this event, Dr. @moniionita.bsky.social and co-authors can tell you:

Nice paper led by @leonchafik.bsky.social on the North Atlantic-Nordic Seas overturning circulation.
Warm & salty North Atlantic water transport to the Nordic Sea (NS) across the Greenland-Scotland Ridge (GSR) didn't show a slowdown since 1972. Instead, it exhibited multidecadal variability. The NS overflow & AMOC across the GSR also display a similar signal. 🌊🧪👍 doi.org/10.1038/s43247-025-02557-x
