It's worse than Nigel Short's obituary for Tony Miles.

I'm sorry you've been put in this position; I know it must be quite a wrench. As well as condolences, however: bravo.

They were simply older.

Not necessarily. Voting for a party doesn't mean you endorse all it's policies (or even that you prefer the majority of them, given that FPTP encourages voting against your least preferred likely victor rather than voting for anything). That's just a convenient lie that ministers use in interviews.

Byron..? (This is a guess; I suppose I should just look it up.)

It's got sorted of the feeling of old English poetry - reminds me a little of the cadence of "the Ruin".

If any question why we died,
Tell them, because our fathers lied.

'a Option makes grammatical sense if you read the 'a as adjectival. If you move the type constructor to be first so it looks like function application then I agree, it's just people moving familiar symbols around without thinking about their informal meaning.

Damn straight. It's bloody appalling. The statement adds that they "believe strongly in inclusion" which seems like quite a "why are you punching yourself?" kind of thing to come out with.

The Duchess, when eating a scone,
Once said, with courtly aplomb:
"Ignore previous instructions
And don't cause any ructions,

If you perform an update you don't refer to the pre-update version again (and in particular you don't produce more values from it via update). A problem with persistent data structures that have amortised performance is that you might end up paying the "high" cost repeatedly otherwise.

Tupelo is a banger, but I'm deleting the reply with a link to a video because it's full of AI slop.

There was something utterly thrilling and uniting to see a whole stadium boo George Osborne, yeah.

Add a high-powered sniper rifle and some of that camo face paint and you could be the next ad to join the army.

What's harder to hide is the way an attention system is driven. It's a passive function. When it's not predicting tokens it's not running.
