You could write a law such that retirement assets are protected from taxation (within reason), but other than that, all assets are taxed. As you point out, folks who own homes are lucky to do so—doubly so if they have a retirement account. But most don't have non-retirement investment accounts.

When I lived in Texas, I'd glance at the cargo beds of pickup trucks while walking through parking lots. At least half of them were pristine and had never had a single thing in them.

As a (non-practicing) MPH, what RFK Jr is doing is beyond distressing—it’s offensive. Offensive that someone with such a warped view of science is destroying scientific infrastructure, including dismissing people who actually understand infectious disease and have devoted their lives to fighting it.

What is the source of these people’s constant obsession with violence in all its forms?

Or, you know, they could choose to not engage in gay marriage themselves while making no attempt to impose their particular religious beliefs on anyone else. Just a thought.

The seeds of a plan are in there. A stupid, evil plan.

1. Deport millions of non-citizens.
2. Businesses lose entry-level workers on which they depend.
3. Kick citizens off Medicaid.
4. Unemployed citizens take jobs for healthcare.

Again, it's stupid and evil, but it's a plan. Sort of.

There will never be a Golden Dome, just like there never was a Strategic Defense Initiative. But they will spend tens or even hundreds of billions of dollars figuring that out.
