But thought leadership is hard, and informing your opinion by 3 month old polls and James Carville’s terrible ideas is easy/comfortable. Apparently so is sending a thousand fundraising texts.

Are there progressives that didn’t vote Biden or Harris? Yeah. Was it enough to swing either election? No. Data tells us this. I don’t know why you can’t admit that libs do have the same issue voting for progressives. You just rarely are faced with that choice in the US.

Here’s just one of dozens of articles with Dems doing exactly what you say they didn’t.

Josh Shapiro joins Mamdani pile-on, saying candidate failed to condemn antisemitic rhetoric
The remarks are the latest sign that the NYC mayoral candidate hasn’t won over the party establishment.

So your theory is that with less than 50% of registered voters turning out, only the non-registered and conservatives and full turnout?
January 14, 2026 at 5:05 PM
Certainly doesn’t cover the 49% that voted for Cuomo or Sliwa. That’s a 16% delta even with ALL of them voting for these guys….. hmm…. Wonder where those could’ve come from????? Guess we will never know
January 14, 2026 at 4:55 PM
If ALL of them voted Cuomo. Which is unlikely for those with no party registration.
January 14, 2026 at 4:54 PM
That gets us to 33%
January 14, 2026 at 4:53 PM
Also, the “history of Republican mayors” is all from over 20 years ago.
January 14, 2026 at 4:20 PM
Here’s some actual data instead of saying an endorsement does anything. Let me know how Cuomo gets to 41% without a bunch of Dems.
January 14, 2026 at 4:19 PM
Trump endorsing Cuomo doesn’t mean only R’s voted for him as much as you want it to mean that.
January 14, 2026 at 4:11 PM
Hard to imagine why you’re ignoring all the results for Deblasio showing 70%+ far more recently or the fact that Eric Adams won over 65% far more recently in years with similar electorates.
January 14, 2026 at 4:03 PM
Yes, the 9/11 election in 2001 had the same electorate as the year of our lord 2025. No anomalies there, including that Bloomberg was a democrat for the decades prior and pivoted to independent after the first term.
January 14, 2026 at 4:00 PM
Recent presidential elections show anywhere from 15-30% Republican vote. Obviously some voted Cuomo, but Cuomo won 41.3%.

Interested to hear how you explain that delta.
January 14, 2026 at 3:48 PM
Right. But he WAS a democrat. And he DID take some (a lot) of the liberal Dem vote. Sliwa only won 7%. Do you think NY is 93% Dem?
January 14, 2026 at 3:40 PM
If Bernie ran in the 2020 presidential race as an independent in the general, I’m sure you’d feel the same way.
January 14, 2026 at 2:32 PM
Enough**** of the actual voters lined up for him. Many libs, very loudly and intentionally, did not.

Tell me how running an alternative candidate that is a previous democrat official as an independent was lining up behind Mamdani.
January 14, 2026 at 2:28 PM
The idea that libs voted blue no matter who for Mamdani is preposterous. They (liberal dems) literally campaigned to add Cuomo to the general ballot as an independent. Districts that leaned Cuomo tended to have less second rankings. Our Senate Majority leader wouldn’t even say who he voted for.
January 14, 2026 at 2:19 PM
They uh…. Ran another candidate that lost the primary to him they were so upset.
