I am not sure the lure of Global Gateway is enough to tear developing countries away from the affordability of Huawei, given how underwhelming it has been.

But the fact that they are willing to weaponise it in that way speaks to a big mentality shift in the commission

Remember: Currently there is no legal requirement to remove Huawei, I guess the countries would have to agree to adopt this so...

Today China's foreign ministry defended the CG in Osaka, according to Kyodo

"China on Monday defended comments made by a Chinese diplomat criticizing Takaichi's recent remarks about possible involvement in a Taiwan emergency, saying Tokyo had hinted at military intervention"
