We are either idiots or didn’t work hard enough for sanity. We saw the danger but naively thought that fellow Americans could not POSSIBLY, when it came down to it, vote for Trump. So we, la-di-dahed through it, thinking common sense and good will would carry us in the end. It did NOT.

They absolutely did! One minute the Church is singing, Let me be a channel of your peace, but after Roe v Wade, they needed to ally with the antiCatholic contingent, in order to get their pull with government types. And the right used us to fight back the IRS over tax exemption for megachurches.

I will never understand why Catholics throw in with a man who gets the majority of his support from those who do not even consider Catholics to be Christian. Who call us heretics, non-biblical, even satanists. Consenting to wear a “kick me” sign just to curry favor on…pro-life, I guess. Humiliating.
