I said goodbye to some amazing women who are incredible social workers. They’re hardworking, dedicated, professional Latinas that enrich our community. I’m so proud of them & to know them.
I know this isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later. They deserved better and so do the kids on their caseloads.

This!! Instead, I have to now prep my SW’s to create safety plans of what could happen if ICE shows up at school or church with families. & my own kids to potentially witness their classmates be detained by ICE. Awesome! Bc active shooter drills AND worries aren’t enough.

Today has been emotionally exhausting. All the what ifs & fear, won’t help me face the shit storm tomorrow. We’ve prepped our families, created family preparedness plans, & will hold space with & for them.The trauma we have and will inflict will be felt for generations.
