Because of my jobs and where I am in society I feel as if I'm probably stupid or missing something, as clearly I'm no economist, and I can't argue my point well, but I can see huge generational differences in my workplace. People who started the job in the 80s/90s could buy a house.

In my workplace a vocal few are blaming their struggles on migrants but I have not fallen down that rabbit hole, but it feels as if I am extreme in viewing the issue as the result of wages not being enough, in real terms, to live as other generations did doing similar work.

I campaigned for Labour on the basis that we were promised, via the New Deal, that the minimum wage would be lifted to a genuine living wage. Not only has this not happened I also have heard no messaging that this is even on the cards. I have 2 jobs, hospitality and delivery. I feel like a mug now.
