The Illustration On a path entombed by emerald magic, in a theatrical, deceptive manoeuvre, Noemi guides a throng of goblin-lured children to the Amblebread Creature’s core, a walking beast of cosmic terror—their city’s guard, its guise against the Ourobim, a pestilence storied to chase the Amblebread city on the back of its creature before time remembered.

“The Never Queen” was first showcased at Curio Art Gallery this September during their group #exhibition “Memoir”. She was requested for post-sale after “Deck the Halls” local market in November: her digital #original is still available by inquiry.

“The Dream Keeper” and their frog-inspired creature, the Lalubi, on a celestial, orrery-like, ruby gemstone staff by digital artist FAYBEL. “They say there’s a creature that covets dreams—that spirits them away when you—tucked in covers—sleep. Beneath your bed, does it tarry, does it keep, merely to eat your most blissful dreams—its treat?” ~”The Rag Doll Princess”, an original fairytale Their Creature The Lalubi is a spinner that syphons dreams from your mind when you sleep or descend into deepest thoughts without speech. With a downy pillow plume, it spins your dreams. They wisp from your mind like incense-tresses. The Lalubi’s gullet burgeons, blooming with light, and there they glow, your dreams, in a starry nebula—lost for millennia—naught to be felt or seen. “Castle on a Cloud” from “Les Miserables” was the first musical theatre piece I ever performed. I grew up studying classical music, watching period dramas and playing Beethoven. These influences colour my illustration of “The Dream Keeper”, especially the crazed Beethovenesque hair. The somber mood and dark aesthetic of Sweeney Todd’s musical score as well as the muted tones of Tim Burton’s Mad Hatter were notes of inspiration for this character. Folktale Week 2021’s dream prompt inspired the premise of this piece as well as the folkloric dream stealing creature. There may be some Miyazaki influence trickling in. The Watcher weaves shadow to cloth upon his skin, Garments of eldritch lore with nightmarish fae within. They nip upon the soul and shrivel will to whim, For those you reap the dark and stitch, Vices feast within. LORE Watchers weave cloth from any shadow, including their own. They can cloak within the long stretch of an enemy’s at dawn, or dress with the shadows of an estate at dusk. Gathering intelligence is their play, while focusing against the soul rending drones of the Dyrfae. Dyrfae are shadow ghouls that feast upon all that is bright—happy musings and memories that color a life. INSPIRATION This piece was inspired by the striking silhouettes, contrast and dark tones of Laura Rubin’s portraiture as well as the harsh and simplified palettes of horror and dark fantasy film posters.

This picture was taken before my spinal injury. At 29, I was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis. I’m hoping 2025 is the year I receive reconstructive surgery. Evenstill, I’m often told that my #digitalpaintings look a bit like me.

I painted this piece for my sister back in 2021 and it was the beginnings of a new dark #fairytale. She was published in Marvelous Art Magazine and her digital original sold at my first solo exhibition in 2022. “The Ragdoll Princess” is now a ‘popular gift’ on iCanvas.
