It's a very cool question being asked in a cosmology that doesn't seem to have purgatory, saints, or archangels, but is still modeled around modern Christianity.

It's a fascinating lil dynamic. Alastor wants to be the most powerful Sinner in Hell, but who's sin is greatest but the angel that rebelled? What does rebellion mean in this cosmology and, for that matter, what does it mean to rise to the challenge of a role you hate performing?

Meanwhile, Lucifer should be doing some kind of job in hell that he has no interest in doing because he refuses to see past the asshole who ended up in hell aspect of things. He's telling Alastor to Do His Job as Host just as Alastor is forcing him to Do His Job of wrangling sinners.

Alastor is, as we've seen, only at the Hotel under duress, to keep up appearances. He couldn't care less about keeping up appearances unless it's to cover his connection to Rosie. She's the one obsessed with image, that just isn't his thing. But it should be, as far as his job at the hotel goes.

Maybe I'm forgetting something from S1, but the coaster moment is the first time we've seen Lucifer act like he wants a Sinner to act right. The Host of the Hotel disrespecting said Hotel is horrid behavior from someone who purports to care about its success.

I have more complex thoughts on this but I can't type too long on a phone & my laptop is fully dead so this is what I've got for now.

Likewise, Angel is hardly beyond redemption for being still caught in an abusive cycle with a moth also caught in an abusive cycle.
(Personally my money's on either Husk or acompletely random background character redeeming next)

All this to say every character has their arc and hers is gonna be rough because it affects so many people. That doesn't make her a dangerous nepo-baby that ruins everyone's lives; she's just short-sighted and underskilled.

Charlie doesn't know how to run rehab, she just has vague ideas of things that could help, and that willingness to help is good but she has 0 experience or skill in that region. It's rough but that's her arc. Hardly makes her worse than, say, Val.

And that's the complicated thing about rehab, isn't it. When you "get better" you are discouraged from seeing the people you met on the inside, especially if they aren't "better" yet. Like cosmological musings aside this show is a great allegory for surviving rehab.
