You can buy starter from like, King Arthur Flour, and they'll send you a little cup to start your own culture. Eventually local yeasts will supplement that culture and it'll be uniquely yours.

The Iliad is a story about an alpha pouting on the sidelines until his boyfriend gets killed. In the sequel his ghost whines about how he wishes he had been a beta instead.

Right outside the dollhouse, Brian Jacques has borrowed Clive Barker's smartphone and placed it on its side. A little group of mice, shrews, and squirrels have brought kernels of caramel popcorn.
Jacques hits Play... and the parent animals cover their babies' eyes.
Jacques: "Oh no! Wrong video!"

It is. this makes me loathe every white person who was like "he's a genius really" including one of my former roommates... who I wound up not getting along with in the end because of enormous amounts of white fragility about her latent racism.

They were just fun reads for me and I broke them down like that.
If he's as smart as he claims, he could probably bring up other Greek sources like the plays and other para-Homeric interpretations of the same myths to actually counter my read.
But he can't and he won't because he hasn't read it.

Like. I didn't get through my education at UT through smarts. I did it through persistence. I don't really see the point in convincing people I'm intelligent, because I value my ability to work through things and fail and learn from failure far more — but I didn't really study the Iliad or Odyssey.

Fighting over princesses? The argument over Briseis leads to Achilles sulking like a toddler. The rape of Cassandra leads to the gods smiting the guy who did it by cutting a promontory off while he was standing on it.
The entire point of the Trojan war was the absolute futility of it.

(Odysseus) doesn't get home until 19 years later and has countless side adventures where his shitty leadership leads to disaster, and the other other guy close to it (Agamemnon) gets shanked by his wife because she was pissed off he sacrificed their daughter Iphigenia to the gods.

also the Iliad isn't the Odyssey... and the entire fight in the Iliad is basically what happens after the gods decide to have Penelope run off with Paris. It's not maximum alpha; the closest guy we have to maximum alpha (Achilles) dies and was fucking his male cousin, and the other guy close to it —
