Some progress on the post apocalyptic samurai helmet. Mostly finished with the spark plug demon skull for the top and even though I acid etched the skull on the front I wanted it to stick out a little more so I laser cut the same skull in .015” brass sheet and added it on top of the etched skull.

New laser expands what materials I can engrave including metal. One inch diameter brass coin engraved both sides. Might need to get some stock built up and reopen my Etsy store.

Messing around with opaque acrylic sheet on the laser. Nothing earth shattering. Just playing with cutting out different colors for signs and badges etc.

Home and calm…ish. She’s not picking fights with the boys so that’s a plus.

Another piece of the puzzle done. Acid etched skull on the helmet. These old Vietnam issue steel pots are fucking impervious to everything. Next time I’m buying a replica helmet made from cheap steel.

Pretty happy with the paint so far. Surprised that I actually got something done during tonight’s art chat. Also really impressed with the Pro Acryl paints! I picked up Ti White, bright ivory and ivory to try out. Whites usually suck for coverage but these worked great. I’ll be picking up more.

A thing that will be part of a larger thing when it’s finished. 1/4 scale medical skull, laser cut hardwood halo, acrylic denture teeth. I’d use real ones but they’re expensive/hard to remove from coworkers.
