They sure tried, but after 6 months of humane and inhumane methods failing, it was decided that Shadow would instead be used as a weapon for G.U.N instead.

Project Shadow was brought back and for 6 years Edens was making fast advancments in medicine and biotechnology. When the new commander took over however, the lab was forcefully shut down and the two head scientists were arrested for treason due to attempting to escape with Shadow.

So, Shadow's backstory in my AU is a little messed up....
After the shut down of the Ark, Project Shadow was lost for 50 years. Once it was found again on earth, G.U.N put forth the money on a different research center to bring it back to life again. This center was called Edens research center.
