Today my lipedema legs feel tight, full, and sore. I wore compression, which is supposed to help, but not so much today.

As a fat person, I’ve heard people say they are “worried about my health.”
1. First and foremost, I don’t owe you “health.”
2. It’s ableism- does someone with MS or anorexia owe you health to earn respect?
3. It’s rooted in misogyny as ppl love to tell women how they need to look.

I went to a storytelling event that centers fat voices and its was a breath of fresh air to be in a mix of people who understand the fat experience and love and leave space for our vices.

The rising trend of:

- thin worship
- beige/colorless color palettes
- trad wives
- homeschooling
- respectability politics
- banned books
- holistic science/medicine (ex. raw milk, seed oils)

are all related to the rise of conservatism and white supremecy.

The animosity towards accommodating furniture for fat people is an example of when bigotry ends up worsening the lives of those pushing the rhetoric as well. Why would you not want bigger seats on airlines? More supportive furniture? More personal space?

If you’re thinking BlueSky is wonderful without all the MAGA losers, just think about how wonderful your life would feel if you cut them all out completely

I had the pleasure and frustration of advocating for a plus sized patient who was struggling to get needs met in multiple ways and a not insignificant part of this was due to their size/BMI. It’s so frustrating! Figure out how to give care to all people.#fatliberation #bmisucks #fatpatients

My value as a person is not a function of my BMI or my waist size or my bra size or my “body count” or my makeup routine or my clothing choices or my job or my ability to move or my race or my religion or the number of teeth I have or my nationality or my zip code or the size of my bank account

If diets, or behaviors and programs in disguise but still diets, actually worked we wouldn’t have a diet industry making upwards of hundred of billions annually, yet we’re not getting skinnier. It’s a scam, folks. #fat #antifatbias #dietculture #fatacceptabce

Do NOT respond to someone who describes their body as fat with “you’re so beautiful”. Bitch, I didn’t say I was ugly. #fat #fatacceptance #fatliberation

Fat is not a bad word. It’s a neutral adjective.
