Writing a diary gave me purpose, hoping my future child would read it someday. After immigrating, I tossed them, thinking my kid couldn't read Farsi. But I realized it was therapeutic and helped me sort through my thoughts. Journaling calmed me down. Maybe it's time to revisit this practice.
