Such a good thread! I think the other big thing about DTC brands is they’re really selling a remedy for decision fatigue — “finally, an X for *you*!” where X is an olive oil, a mattress, a vitamin, anything in a crowded category where choices take effort & time, & you fear social-tribe misalignment
