Finally got the dialog system visuals and functionality working in #EIDOLWARE!

Sizing boxes based on text and stacking them right was way harder than expected, but I’m glad I didn’t settle for a static text box. It feels way more conversational now.

Finished the base dialog UI for #EIDOLWARE.

Portraits by name, speech bubble tails, open/close animations are working smoothly.

This time around I'm moving from JSON to a full conversation system using the flowchart editor in #construct3. Excited to build more!

Enemies in #EIDOLWARE can now be affected by status conditions, such as burning. This update lays the groundwork for exciting and system-driven interactions throughout the game!

Small announcement: DEMON/WARE is now EIDOLWARE!

We changed our game's name and logo because it's original, more relevant to the plot and we don't want to encounter any potential legal issues with Activision Blizzard when we release the game in the future. 😅

I pushed it off for so long to work on other parts of the game, but DEMON/WARE now has a loss state and Game Over screen! ☠️

Turn on sound 🔊to hear the SFX and music.

I'll probably replace the bottom text with something more relevant to game lore at some point, but they'll do fine for now. #gamedev

The sprite I've enjoyed creating the most thus far is this Cryptid.☠️

One of the more advanced enemy types in DEMON/WARE, it pursues you throughout the "haunted forest" area of the convention's artist alley wing.

A closer look at the updated sprites for Anna. When I created the first prototype for DEMON/WARE, I used purchased Horror City assets (thanks @malibudarby87.bsky.social for creating them!) as a template.

Since then, I've improved making my own pixel art and added bouncier animations. #gamedev #art
