I always wished that I'd written June Lockhart to thank her for being an ally. This clip was just past Stonewall--when even identifying as queer-friendly had serious social repercussions.

If anything, knowing that all of them are in their mid-70s, it felt like the perfect farewell and send off for two bands who helped set my course in life and whose music saw me through some of my darkest and brightest hours.
