And good software! How your movement works is really important, and there's a lot of things (like blackening out the edges of the screen when your character move but you don't) that mitigate the issues.

But yea, hardware too. That first Oculus DK1 without 6 DoF tracking was doing a number on people

Nausea sucks and can happen to some people regardless of how good the software and hardware is, but it's really not all that common. I've done VR demos for public events and never had anyone experience it.

I've had one kid completely lose balance mid-session and fall down though. RIP Controller :/

For dedicated enthusiasts it's already happening and has been for a while. There's a lotta folks (like me) really into it, like Simulation fans and the Social VR crowd (or as the media would like to call it, "metaverse", but they'll never consider VRChat as one).

Mainstream tho? Probably not.

One downside is that I didn't want to let my colleagues down and piss them off even more so imma help them unload our gear and put it back in storage.

Which means as I am waiting for them to come back with the 2nd load I just locked myself into our garage.

Bit cold and dark.

Still! Do take care of yourself.

Holy fuck. Are you able to block any number not in your contract list to protect yourself from such creeps? I know it's not always an option...

Avoiding quest-compatible worlds will definitely reduce the amount of kids you encounter.

If you get 18+ verified (which, I know, isn't without issues) you can join instances almost guaranteed without minors.

Would rather have small stuff than no stuff due to you being totally burnt out.

Pacing yourself is fine.

She's eating wet food exclusively at the moment. The vet's gonna be calling on Monday and we'll figure out together how to proceed.

Likely, and the vet already mentioned that early on. She might need the bad kidney removed.

The main difference is that cancer can spread to other body parts, so if that's what it was, removing the kidney wouldn't have helped.
