that you keep making excuses for the guy just proves that he wasn't a great leader. good intentions do not make great leaders. great leaders find a way to move mountains. obama has not. trump has controlled our politics for over a decade- since before obama left office.

what obama could do- run for office, join the judiciary, joined the biden cabinet, write books, give speeches, tweet incessantly (it made trump potus), run a nonprofit, become a law professor or dean, anchor a news program (if not msm, indie). i don't "expect" any of this specifically.

carter didn't do much politically but still spent his 90s giving to charity, serving the public. also none of these were even good presidents.

bush isn't one of ours, should have been prosecuted like the bankers that obama also failed to hold accountable. biden has 0 political cache. bill clinton is not welcome in polite society, but has done more to elect dems post presidency.

It was a fairly anmalous situation considering how young he was. You can wring your hands about what an ex-president can and should do (Trump and his supporters won't assuming he lives that long). Taft became chief justice. Obama is a podcaster and film producer.

The new deal coalition lasted at least a generation after fdr. The 14th and 15th amendments passed after lincoln was assassinated.

I volunteered I donated. I wore an obama button everyday freshman year of high school. I am proud to have cast my first vote for his reelection. The fact of the matter is that he was not capable of sustaining his movement beyond his time in office.

i would like to believe that the best politician of my lifetime was great, but the way his supporters minimize his capabilities make me think i have never shared this country with a great political leader.

i honestly don't know if he could be more effective today. you people seem to believe he could do more but are satisfied with what he has given us. that is an unacceptably low expectation of duty for our leaders, for a man who wanted and succeeded in becoming the most powerful man in the world.

incline treadmill is sick. i know some mountain ultrarunners do a ton of slow walking backwards uphill on treadmills because it strengthens quads and knees without much impact.
