CD Wright: "Death is death and none other." Somehow it carries tragedy & destiny--how? Paradox is small comfort. Wrote this poem after a loved one's death--it came out this summer @southerninreview.bsky.social. But after losing my father suddenly last week, it now seems the poem was always for him.

How moved to find my sad spontaneous overflow at home in the wonderful Georgia Review, alongside work from writers I admire. Here's my girl, whew, here she is, friends, be gentle, snapped w/ a few other poems that caught my eye. What an issue! 🌾 Grateful for poetry. #nationalpoetrymonth

The saddest, realest pietà I ever saw. Anguish, not serenity.

Sculptor was Pietro Giuseppe Tito. In Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, Venice.

One of the better craft books I've read in a while: 'Structure and Surprise', ed. by Michael Theune. Chapters from Mary Szybist, D.A. Powell, Prageeta Sharma, Christopher Bakken, and so many more. Only a few chapters in -- but definitely recommend. #poetry

My PA heart loves that I'm associated at all with this smolder-town. Got a poem about it in my collection, 'The Clearing'. Originally published in South Dakota Review.

Psyched that this saucy little poem, "Jubilee," came to rest at 'Copper Nickel'. What an issue--including the quasi-cento on the back cover.

(Camera haze is from falling into an Icelandic stream, which was surprisingly delightful & unsurprisingly chilly.)
