Been using one for years and it does exactly what I want it for while feeling like cheap crap. Every once in a while I check to see if anything better has come along and nope, still just that.

unfortunately the SyncMaster i have is a little cooked, so it will never be the brightest, but at least i was able tweak the flyback enough to fix a focus issue. currently busting up hell’s kitchen

just beginning my own playthrough on “retro” hardware (19” CRT, Voodoo 3, etc). stock GOTY edition - haven’t looked into any QoL patches to make it less painful. maybe the pain is part of the experience?

i used to curate my twitter follows because i mostly wanted to just scroll cute art. sometimes that meant unfollowing someone, but i never begrudged them that. what a sense of entitlement to feel owed a certain brand of posting. 😑

having that built-in tuner was also great for older TVs without digital tuners, because it allowed you to tune into cable stations above channel 13. (otherwise you needed a discrete digital tuner box)
