I have been told that using Vaseline on the ring before you go to bed makes it less painful. The ring slips better. I have not experienced this first hand.

I have coached many boys this exact thing. Getting through the night is the first hurdle. Take it off. Put it back on as soon as possible. It is still chastity if you dont play with it. When you dont have to work the next day, try frozen vegetables to reduce the swelling and keep the cage on.

I have a friend from long ago who self locked because he played too much. 15 years later he still locks.
