Highlight of the last couple of weeks has been my little supervisor keeping me company during some very stressful work situations.

Divvy is being Divvy. She loves pats and starts rolling around on excitement sometimes, which makes giving her the pats difficult. Skye is puzzled by this behaviour.

I spent most of yesterday napping in a dark room but at one point I woke up and 🥹 they're becoming buddies!

We are at the point of co-habiting on the bed, and there have been some attempts at playing together and grooming from both of them :)

It's not the best shot but when she faces you front on her markings look like little fangs which I find hilarious given her condition 🤣
A calico cat lays in a bathtub. If you look closely the markings on her chin look like little fangs at the right angle. She has acquired a black bow tie breakaway collar.

This is Divvy, who I am picking up today. She is 3.5 and has been in foster care since she was 2 weeks old 🥲 I hope she loves it here - earlier than I was planning on but she is a good fit for our house, and Pan is missing having another cat around.

It's been ages since I've posted - a combination of being busy, poor health, and a bit of a depressive episode. I'm not back but there are a couple of people from twitter I've been mutuals with for ages so a quick update - Bandit was put to sleep on Monday.

Took Skye on a little track walk. Just 2km since I'm still pretty low energy after covid and my hip has flared cause I haven't been able to do my exercises. She was a good girl and had a lot of fun sniffing around.

She's lucky she's cute because the covid fatigue meant getting this blind up for her on the weekend took about two hours instead of ten minutes. 😅

I think she is pretty happy here.

🌱 A tragedy :(
A tomato plant that previously had a number of ripening cherry tomatoes on it. There are no tomatoes left on it, and one half-eaten green tomato is on the mulch in front of the plant. A cucumber plant is shown wilting on the ground. Semi-formed cucumbers are visible. What is unable to be seen is the stem near the ground has been nibbled through.

Unless you are using a very free-draining soil mix I would not water only from the top. Tested it before planting and the top layer was sopping wet while the bottom was bone dry. Also drill holes in the base, I didn't and will need to unless I want mozzies breeding there.
A grow tower situated among clover. There are some seeds sprouting in two of the three visible growing pockets. The base is full of dirty water.

Small garden update. The small pumpkins are rapidly outgrowing the butterfly peas and I'm debating temporarily repotting them until they are a little bigger. The raspberries are going great guns and both of the pink pumpkins have officially sprouted. One will go to a friend once it's big enough!

They are a pink variety of pumpkin.

Look at all those potential seed pods! I think I will deadhead and save these.
A kangaroo paw flower near the end of its life. The flower has faded from blue to green with touches of purple brown. At the base of each 'finger' a bulb is starting to form which will become a seed pod.

I have the two towers up and planted along with the last of the potatoes in, and pumpkin and watermelon seeds! 🌱

Just a little bit of soil! More potatoes out (sticks are markers so I can put in a trellis later) and Malabar spinach too. One tower is put together but not planted, as I'm debating getting a metal bar to put through the middle for stability (probably will). 🌱

Pots arrived! Bunnings trip is required for soil (and more pots for potatoes).

I have my first cucumber developing!
A close up of a cucumber plant. A cucumber is starting to form. The bumps on the skin are still close together, and the dried remains of the flower are still attached on the end. There are other flowers with tiny potential cucumbers also visible. The cucumber plant is mulched with sugar cane fibre.

This is Bandit (calico) and Pan (raggie)! Bandit was 8 when I adopted her, she was a farm cat given up. She's a bombproof cat, nothing phases her. Pan's original family was returning him to his breeder due to toileting issues, so I adopted him. He is doing a lot better and is a lovely boy!

4 have been planted, 6 to go that I need pots for. Also stuck some purple king bean seeds in with one set - old seed, but I did get some germinating a month ago for a friend. The billy buttons flower is starting to open, and I have a spring onion flower too!
