Been a miserable day, spent it curled up on the sofa with my animals watching Alien3 special edition. Aliens is my favourite film but I hate Alien3 (die hard Aliens fans know), I’ve never seen the special edition with the alternate ending. Still not doing it for me 😆

Had a lovely lead out in hand this evening. Practice trailer loading tomorrow. As an ex race horse he’s only ever travelled in the luxury of a 3.5 tonne horsebox….

Been out long reining this evening. Farrier next Tuesday, physio on Friday. Just bought stable mats and electric fencing to section off paddock for winter. Broke 😣

Session on the lunge tonight. Apart from standing on, and breaking an overreach boot 🙄 and one ‘I’m just going to whip round and fuck off over here to see my mate in the next paddock’ moment, M was really good. Listened to me and we made progress to build on

Rehab began yesterday after last week’s physio appointment with a short lead out in hand. This morning we long reined big circles in the school before going off up the track by ourselves. Moray was really good, just adamant about getting his stud muffin reward

Had been following a fantastic social media account, guy posting about cycling trips/food/mental health @timcyclesthecoast.bsky.social. Hadn’t seen a post from him for a long time. Found out yesterday that he sadly took his own life in January. Just in complete shock. Hoping he is now at peace

Anyone else have a horse who is a complete utter ungrateful tw*t. Honestly the photo of this hay doesn’t do it justice. It’s green, it’s not dusty, it has no weeds. It cost me a fortune. I even blended it with his old hay but he won’t touch it….

Today is amber’s birthday. she’s burimed under a cherry tree with amber bark, called an amber beauty at the house where I used to live.
I took a bunch of flowers and asked the new people who live there if they’d put them under the tree for her. They were lovely 🥲

Moray got his first proper shoes yesterday after wearing racing plates all his life. His feet need gradually shortening and raising and the farrier said he might be footsore for a few days so he’s got a couple of days off
