It is distressing, and you’re right about the verification too — and the hike given to purchased blue ticked replies (the less said the better?) means that most of the more meaningful discussions are buried under those replies!

I feel the same. The sharp decline in quality over there is stark. There are worse things of course but we’re allowed to care about multiple things at once. You weren’t wrong for what you said — the victims were children, it’s horrific enough without politics :(
