20/11/24 #WWT #MartinMere - Bright sun but patches of water still frozen. Ruff right in front of the hides and plenty of whooper swans on the lakes. Greylag and pink-footed geese on the far side and a couple of marsh harriers overhead. Stunning eider ducks but unfortunately in an enclosure. #Birding

19/11/24 A 3 day trip to find birds around the #Ribble with the first stop at #RSPB Hesketh Bank Marsh. All the overnight snow melted except for a glow outlining the Pennines. Highlights were a marsh harrier, chased off by a pair of crows, and a scattering of golden plovers. #Birding #Lancashire
