This is not the country I signed up for and certainly not the country my father fought for. Today from the window of the farmhouse I watch the hummingbirds flit about. Oh to be a hummingbird nary a care and life is sweet.

As summer rolls in the Midwest, the fireflies are out and the gardens are now humming. I think to myself it’s this, the veg garden, the hardworking laborers, the real people who make America great..not the red hatters and the idiot in the White House. Keep farming, keep growing and keep the faith.

Plan well…become an urban farmer, grow some food. Take a drive to a rural area and get to know your small family farms. If this thing goes to shit like I think it’s going to we’re all going to have to rely on one another. Food for thought from a small time farmer.
