No, but he's only had 4 starts. He's a lifetime .209 hitter, which is a bit better than Drew's lifetime average of .196. Maile is a good backup for a catcher that's catching 140 games a year--I'd hate to Salvy get hurt because he has to go behind the plate more often with Freddy gone.

Depends on the Royals outlook. If they think they still have a shot, possibly. If not, leave him in Omaha. Fermin was starting 3-4 days a week over the past 6 weeks. The bottom of the order is already a black hole, to which Maile won't improve it.

I think you need to get Jensen in the bigs to see what he can do. To me, Maile is a poor man's Butera, and with Salvy only catching 100-110 games a year, I think we need a stronger backup than Maile. Jensen's offensive floor is probably similar, but his ceiling is a lot higher.

I love Freddy, but this is a great deal for a team 1) now missing 60% of its Opening Day rotation and 2) with catchers as its top 2 prospects, with one almost big-league ready.
