I’ll just go straight to it: Talk To Me (2023) is one of the best films of the year, even considering the huge amount of excellent movies that have been released recently.

It is a creative, violent and surprisingly bleak descent into hell, executed to perfection by the Philippou brothers.

Babylon (2022) was the victim of several factors. It could very well be its 3-hour runtime (Oppenheimer proved everyone wrong), its subject matter or simple lack of marketing efforts.

Which is fucking sad, because Babylon is an amazing, chaotic, decadent and prolific love letter to film.

To put it simple, Evil Dead Rise (2023) is one of the best horror films I’ve ever experienced.

Watching it in theaters felt like true privilege, to witness all its mean violence, gore and classic genre thrills, all while pushing the genre forward.

Revisiting it just confirms all that.

Introduce yourself.

One book. One comic. One film. One album.

There are few things that I enjoy more than finding new great horror films that were completely off my radar. Roh (2019) filled those requirements, and many more.

It is a dense, atmospheric folk horror film from Malaysia. A hypnotic, thoroughly creepy film that reminded me of The VVitch.
