LV decompression in children on VA #ECMO? Role remains controversial and variably adopted. Benefit more consistent in PC setting. Despite a generally favourable safety profile, each technique carries specific procedural risks to be carefully weighed vs potential benefits. #PedsICU

Cardiac output alone may not reflect tissue perfusion in shock. Even with increased output, microcirculatory dysfunction can persist. A shift toward assessing “perfusion responsiveness” may offer better guidance for fluid therapy. zurl.co/s05Ij
