I was going to say the Redeads from Zelda:OoT BUT I HAVE ONE EARLIER THAN THAT AND IT WAS KING'S QUEST 7!

There's a graveyard area in that game that freaked me out the entire time I was in it. The background art just felt so disturbing to me... And then THINGS WOULD JUMP OUT AND GRAB YOU! horrible!

FFXIV spoilers:

Hard to choose a moment out of this game in particular (there's a ton of great emotional moments...), so I'll go with one that isn't often mentioned.

I am not exaggerating when I say I was uncontrollably sobbing at this moment. Inconsolable.
