As a foodie, there are some dishes that you just always love, and some venues that you will always defend. This is neither of them.
This came out of left field and blew me away. The last dish I had from this restaurant was pedestrian, but this version steak was exquisite.

A little treat for myself as a reward for getting through a hell of a week: grass fed rump steak with mushrooms and onions, mixed green salad and potato salad.

Bit of experimental cookery here: tagliatelle with creamy mushroom and sausage sauce. The experimental part is that I added caraway seed and Chinese 5 spice to the sausages as they were cooking. It adds a very pleasant warm earthiness to the flavour.

An attempt to make zwiebelrostbraten with skillet roast potatoes and green beans. It's turned out quite well, though I can't match the quality of the real thing.

Garlic and basil foccacia. The dough probably should have had a little longer to prove, but I needed to get it done in time to cool down before transport.
