Was looking at my old Sonic OCs that I made back in middle school. I was writing down what I remembered about their stories, and the more I wrote, the darker the backstories got. A lot of themes resulting in bad/abusive dad's, distressed/abandoned mom's and younger siblings. Sheesh. #oldsonicocs#art
Sona the hedgehog. Naive but badass. She left her home in search of her father, Sonic who abandoned her mother and two younger brothers for another woman and had a family with them. Sona not understanding that Sonic abandoned her went out to search for him knowing he was still around. She ran into Emerald and Miriam with other characters and basically had a new family with her fellow friends/community. She does go back home finding that she had new step siblings and her mom remarried, and an awkward conversation with the royal Acorn family, losing respect for her dad and finally understanding he didn't want to see her again. Sona like her dad fights for others freedom, and helps those who need it during difficult times. Emerald and Miriam. An unlikely couple from two separate worlds. Emerald the daughter of Shadow the hedgehog and Sally Acorn. Always trying to seek approval from her father but always being dismissed. Miriam hates his father so much he changed his name got kicked out from anti mobius after beating his dad, Scourge for hitting his mom, Fiona the fox. They met after running away or getting kicked out from their homes. Emerald doesn't understand social cues that well, and struggles understanding her own emotions, Miriam carries a lot of resentment of his abusive dad wanting to be nothing like him, and is sensitive and empathetic, especially towards Emerald. Emerald also has a strong and tough demeter, but is completely vulnerable with Miriam. They eventually become a couple and have been inseparable since. I redrew these characters and decided it would be cool if they were engaged, hints at their rings, and had a more rebellious look than they did initially to make them have more individuality. They're older than Sona (who's like 16) by five years, (so early 20's).

I've been painting a little bit. I find it relaxing and enjoy working fast with acrylic paint. Was trying a new technique using complementary colors. Not supposed to be pretty more like an experiment.
