i love writing about what i loved reading and why—all things fantasy and speculative fiction // book blogger • beta reader • reviewer ~
In the age of amazon-led book selling, the importance of ratings is understandable. But authors, especially self-published, should realise how average ratings supported by authentic reviews can actually benefit their book. Especially in the long run.
I read indies before I became one. I love indie books so much I have multiple socials to boost books. I run a discord. I have purchased HUNDREDS of books.

So please take my words to heart when I say reviewers do not owe you anything. You are now a professional. Act like it.

i'm in a love-hate relationship with annotations because i want to write down all my thoughts in the moment but i also want to just keep reading

reading is the only healthy habit because anything else you do for long hours with almost no breaks is quite dangerous but you can actually read for seven hours straight and everything remains fine—in fact, everything gets better.

three stars for a book means reading it was like having a good day but you didn't laugh out loud even once throughout the day so something feels a little empty on the inside.
