Relatedly, I’m glad to see that the Housing Not Handcuffs Act was just introduced in Congress, sponsored by @jayapal.house.gov and @maxwellfrost.bsky.social, which would ensure that people experiencing homelessness cannot be arrested or ticketed by federal agencies if they have nowhere else to go. 👏

Ngl didn’t keep this going for as long as I wanted. Got busy then felt demoralized by how ineffective each action sometimes feels.. but the SC orders today have my blood boiling so I wrote to my reps. Not sure about continuing to document a daily action item but maybe I’ll pick this up again later.

Day 144, 145 and 146: Made some cantonese protest signs, planted more trees, and marched in the #nokings protest in Oakland!

Day 142 and 143: Shared about the ICE protest happening outside SF immigration court / messaged my reps to demand that Trump withdraw military troops from our communities and rescind the deployment order

Day 138-141: Wrote my senators re: cuts to SNAP/CalFresh, called @padilla.senate.gov to urge him to stop the state AI regulation ban in HR1 (@schiff.senate.gov voicemail was full), donated to the @immdef.bsky.social Detained Immigrant Bond Fund, and briefly stopped by rally in SF to stop ICE

Day 137: Wrote again to my Rep. Nancy Pelosi asking her to cosponsor HR3565, the Block the Bombs Act

Day 136: Wrote to my reps asking them to support the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency (SCERT) Act, because it’s time to hold the Supreme Court to some real ethical standards

Day 135: Going to start donating my #bitcoin earnings, starting with a donation to @unrwa.org

In hindsight I really should have donated crypto directly to charity instead of cashing it all out… I’ll have to be smarter next time

Day 132, 133, and 134: OK admittedly I haven't put in much effort these past few days… but I did sustainably shop from a friend’s closet, in exchange for some homemade jewelry and lemons I picked from my mom’s tree, and I continued to boycott Target by shopping at Grocery Outlet instead

Day 129, 130, and 131: Attended another Indivisible meeting where they discussed organizing for No Kings day on 6/14, read up on the Insurrection Act, and attended a climate action hour on Zoom focused on SB332 and the harms of investor-owned utilities like PG&E

Day 128: Joined a local climate action team to learn more about / start engaging in state and federal climate advocacy. First meeting is this Friday!

Day 127: Wrote to my senators telling them to vote NO on the budget bill aka the "One Big Beautiful Bill" - I feel like I've already contacted them several times about this horrendous bill, but this time I decided to highlight the provisions that attack the power of the judicial branch

Day 126 (technically yesterday): Volunteered at my local food bank and helped bag a bunch of frozen peas (12 2-lb. bags per box)!

Day 125: Just called and left VMs for my senators (@schiff.senate.gov‬ and @padilla.senate.gov) urging them to oppose any version of H.R. 1 (aka the “one big beautiful bill”) that contains any discriminatory exclusions on healthcare for trans people. Used @5calls.org which was super helpful

Day 124: Submitted a public comment opposing OPM’s proposed rule to politicize and undermine the critical expertise of the federal civil service #supportfederalworkers #resist

Day 123: Joined @indivisible.org call. One topic was Trump’s crypto corruption and how 16 Dems voted to support the GENIUS Act 😤

Also sold the rest of my bitcoin today so I no longer own any crypto. I work at a state financial regulator and disclose every year but figured I should fully divest.

Day 122: My monthly donation to the @aclu.org went through today. Admittedly this one took no effort since I’ve been a recurring donor for awhile now… but gotta remind myself that no action is too small #resist

Day 121: Donated to Laud Alauda NGO which is providing direct cash to the most vulnerable Gazan families. Truly mind numbing that we as human beings can let things get to a point where we’re seeing posts that say “14,000 babies in Gaza could die in the next 48 hours”
