Learning medicine is a continuous lifelong process. We award medical degrees and start paying doctors after 4 years of school because we think they're qualified to practice medicine (with supervision). You're saying let's do it a year earlier, which is kind of scary, tbh. A handful might be ready.

What we gained is clarity about those who fight for others and those who hold lavish parties while others suffer. This will become even clearer as consequences of the GOP’s disastrous policies are fully felt. This national nightmare can end only when we take back our government from these monsters.

The outcome is frustrating, but honestly, it ended the only way I could see it ending. The Republicans would never give in because the feel nothing for starving children, families losing health insurance, unpaid workers, stranded travelers. If we fought for 80 or 120 days, they would never cave.
