Social media has weirdly conditioned a huge number of people to feel like they're Doing Something by posting, and Doing Nothing if they don't post about a particular thing, and in general neither of those things are true.

An artist invest his money in promotions to to boost your career and try to build an organic audience. Of course at first time you will "lose" money, but the idea is that in long term you start to make money. I hope you understand what I mean and we can start a relationship. If audience building works in the way you explained, and there's an opportunity to make money from Spotify, either of these options are a win for both sides.
