A modeling exercise on requiring Intelligent Speed Assistance across the United Kingdom found it would "reduce fatal crashes by ~30% and serious crashes by ~25%" #StopSuperSpeeders

The thing about Hoboken is, the same sort of small scale fixes (see below) that helped them eliminate traffic deaths, also make the city a nicer and more enjoyable place to be.

Great to see that Vision Zero success story getting more recognition here: reasonstobecheerful.world/the-city-whe...

Our amazing #StopSuperSpeeders advocates and members are on their way to Albany.

How many people have to die for a deadly road to get fixed? Our member, Michel Shane, who lost his daughter Emily on Pacific Coast Highway, has a new documentary exploring the problem that's worth checking out.

In New York City, where Vision Zero has been backed by real resources and serious policy changes (speed cameras, congestion pricing) made possible in part by the work of Families for Safe Streets -- it IS working. www.washingtonpost.com/business/int...

Los Angeles is failing so badly at Vision Zero that it sullies the whole program.

This Washington Post investigation, where the city undid a road diet and then a woman got killed walking her dog 🤯 it's political malpractice!

Residents of Atlanta are almost 3Xs more likely to be killed in traffic than residents of Chicago.

This demonstrates how much land use, transit and road design dictate traffic safety outcomes. storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/18e9...

What was already a huge problem -- rampant traffic deaths -- has gotten worse and stayed worse in metro Atlanta (like many other metro areas) since the pandemic.

Great analysis by @letspropelatl.bsky.social

RIP David Booker, killed trying to cross a 7 lane road in Memphis by a hit-and-run driver.

This story by the @washingtonpost.com is powerful about institutional indifference to these horrifying cases. #Memphis in particular singled out as deadly...

This would also threaten DC's status as an early adopter of Intelligent Speed Assistance and the movement to #StopSuperSpeeders

Our federal leaders shouldn't be playing politics with people's lives this way. 😡
