Be careful who you let in....or should that be, who lets you in? Based on the Novel by Freida McFadden, The Housemaid is the latest big movie adaptation of a very popular book series...one which I haven't actually read so I went into this completely blind. Sydney Sweeney plays Millie, a girl on parole, living in her car and in desperate need of a job.

It's Neil Diamond without being Neil Diamond! When I was a kid, I grew up with my parents listening to the likes of Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow and Buddy Holly in the car constantly. Magic 828 was always on the radio and I was always exposed to "the oldies". So a film all about a Neil Diamond impersonator, also featuring a Buddy Holly impersonator was a big draw for me.

Less Zombies, more carnage and absolute fucking insanity! Back in 2002, the world was introduced to Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later, a new kind of Zombie movie, written by Alex Garland, where a highly contagious Rage virus had caused unfathomable destruction across the UK with small pockets of people surviving and battling against hoards of the infected. Cillian Murphy shot to fame as Jim, a survivor who found himself alone and in a scary world where he must survive.

Blurring the lines between performance and reality beautifully. Director HIKARI brings us Rental Family, the brand new Brendan Fraser film set around the world of rental families, something which has been around in Japan since the 80s. Brendan Fraser plays Phillip Vanderploeg, a down-on-his-luck actor who moved from the USA seven years ago to find his fame in Japan. Unfortunately he's been stuck in a rut, making embarrassing adverts and never really hitting his big break.

Like an assault on the senses for 160 minutes I have genuinely walked out of Marty Supreme with a headache of epic proportions. The new Josh Safdie film starring Timothée Chalamet is a relentless battering of anger and noise which really hammered my brain...but its pretty decent too. The story is wild. Marty Mauser (Chalamet) is a chancer with a gift for ping pong.

Magical or a damp squib? Wicked: For Good is the concluding part of the big-screen adaptation of the stage musical Wicked. It’s essentially the second act of the show and seeing the first film is absolutely essential to know what is going on in this one. Here we pick up on the story just after Elphaba (played by Cynthia Erivo) is cast out by the Ozians and portrayed as the Wicked Witch of the West by The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) and Michelle Yeoh’s Madam Morrible.

Has Lanthimos done it again or has he stumbled? Yorgos Lanthimos films are divisive. The Greek director first came to me with The Favourite in 2018, the film which saw Olivia Colman win her Oscar for an outstanding performance. Since then, I've seen The Lobster which is a surreal experience, The Killing of a Sacred Deer which is harrowing and Poor Things, a film which pulled in a huge 4 Oscars.

The best horror of recent years? Shelby Oaks is the feature debut from director Chris Stuckmann and produced by a massive amount of people thanks to a crowd-funding project which helped the project get off the ground. Mike Flanagan executive produces and at times, this feels very much like something from the Haunting Of Hill House which he directed. The story follows Mia, a woman who is searching for her little sister Riley who has gone missing.

Oh Oh Oh, it's Magic! The Four Horsemen are back along with some new friends in this second sequel (I refuse to say "Threequel") to the 2013 original. Back then we saw Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco's characters all being brought together by an unknown group called The Eye in order to foil the dastardly deeds of people who are doing wrong things to good people.

Lifestyles of the rich and the Nepo-famous! A feature directorial debut from writer Alex Kugelman, Don't Trip is a journey into nepotism and ambition filled with the quest for success and madness of Los Angeles. ---------------------------------------Synopsis When Dev (Matthew Sato) is fired from his assistant role in Hollywood for pitching his script to a rival agency, he takes it upon himself to try putting his work in front of legendary producer Scott Lefkowitz (Fred Melamed).

Crime definitely doesn't pay, but a low budget film like this does work. Imagine stealing a piece of art and thinking you can get away with it...oh the audacity. The Drowned follows Paul (Michelangelo Fortuzzi), Eric (Alan Calton) and Matt (Dominic Vulliamy) who hole up in a secluded house by the sea following a heist where they stole some valuable artwork.

Maybe it should be a road back to film school... Filmmaker synopsis: Alex Lapierre was once a professional assassin. He now leads a peaceful existence, far removed from his tumultuous past. However, the past never stays buried for long. After his friend and mentor is kidnapped by a threat long thought dead, it is up to Alex and his team to plan a daring rescue mission.

Heartwarmingly beautiful. Everyone needs their heart warmed now and then don't they? Well if you do, I suggest watching Mr.Blake at Your Service, the new John Malkovich film which will be in UK cinemas from 3rd October. Malkovich is Mr Blake, a widowed British businessman who makes a pilgrimage to a manor house in France in memory of his late French wife.

I had the privilege of having a call with Linus O'Brien, director of the new Documentary "Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror" and his father and all-round legend Richard O'Brien, the original creator of Rocky Horror to talk all things Rocky, and even a little bit of The Crystal Maze. Hear us chat about the impact that Rocky Horror has had on the world and how it stands up 50 years later in modern society as well as finding out more information on how the Documentary came about.

Good Boy, bad spookies... I quite like a horror film that comes with a gimmick. Back in the late 90s, we had meta horror like Scream, then the found footage films like Blair Witch and Rec, followed by the Paranormal Activity style films and the resurgence of gore porn like Hostel and Saw. So when I first heard that Good Boy was coming along with an entire film from a dog's perspective, I was very intrigued.

Its being hailed as the film of the year....but not for me. One Battle After Another is another film Written & Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson...and if there's one thing I find I struggle with is big directors who write and direct their own thing. Its almost like they have been given no restrictions, or people to say "do you think you should do that differently?" and what happens is you get films like this which are very much a passion project and obviously mean a lot more to them than it does to me.

A long walk to a weak end Last year I read "The Long Walk" by Stephen King for the first time. It's one of the short stories by King's pseudonym Richard Bachman and is bundled with another couple of stories. One of them being The Running Man which is getting a new adaptation later this year. Firstly, I don't know why the film companies didn't get together and release both films at the same time so people could do a double bill...but here we are.

"Don't dream it.....be it!" I first watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show in my late teens and instantly fell in love with the entire movie. Before that, I knew nothing of Richard O'Brien except him being the guy who led a bunch of people around the Crystal Maze, and Tim Curry was just "that English guy in Home Alone 2". But what happened when I experienced the film was magical.

Quirky, unhinged brilliance Quite possibly taking the record for the longest title I've ever seen, Psycho Therapy is an absolute delight of a film. Keane (John Magaro) is a writer suffering with writers block. His current project is destined to fail as much as his marriage to Suzie (Britt Lower). When he meets superfan and retired serial killer Kollmick (Steve Buscemi), Keane's lift takes a turn.

A mind-numbing clusterfuck of incoherence The official synopsis for Iconic states : In this stylish thriller about the perils of social media, a model influencer struggles to maintain her sanity after a violent stalker tries to kill her. I officially state that the ninety minutes it would take you to watch this film could be better spent doing absolutely anything else.

British comedy at it's best! Its been a while since I've had a good laugh at a new film, but Time Travel Is Dangerous really made me chuckle. A simple concept...a couple of women who run a vintage second-hand shop find a Time Machine and go back in time to get things from the past to sell to people in their shop.
